Samar is Deputy Head of Board at Khalil Sakakini Cultural Center in Ramallah, Palestine. Her work has encompassed various areas, including international relations, human development, social policy, and community empowerment. She is passionately dedicated to fostering positive change and making a meaningful impact on her community, especially in the context of preserving Palestinian culture and heritage. Samar is deeply committed to preserving and promoting Palestinian culinary tradition. Notably, she launched initiative Qam7 Wa Zeit, in which she shares the results of her research in Palestinian cuisine through participatory events. This initiative advocates for the conservation of Palestinian cuisine, its connection to the Nakba, and its role in promoting food sovereignty and preservation. In addition to her leadership roles, she is an avid art collector, a dedicated chef, culinary artist, and researcher in Palestinian food culture. Samar holds a master’s degree in Health Policy and Management from Emory University and earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of San Francisco.
